The Budo Charter is prominently displayed in the dojo of the Nippon Budokan, which houses many of those organizations (including the Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei).

This was a postwar effort to rewrite the definition of budō, which was defined quite differently in pre- and WWII Japan, making it more suitable for postwar Japan.
