Understanding points and rankings to qualify for Olympics Empty Understanding points and rankings to qualify for Olympics

    Hey folks,

Can anyone explain how points are accumulated for an athlete to qualify for the Olympics? Namely the amounts of points needed and the approximate time it takes to accumulate. Also, does competing in the masters division in the Olympic have its own set of criteria? Any info would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure there is no masters division at the Olympics. These two documents should explain the 2020 qualification process.

There is, unfortunately, NO MASTERS DIVISION at the Olympic Games Judo Events.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a maximum age limit then?

It appears that, unless you are exceptionally good, you'll be at your last Olympic games by age 35 - 36 years.
However, the Show Jumpers and Horse event riders continue into their 60's and even older.

There is no formal age limit, but you need to compete in senior, regardless of your age. Wins in the master's division won't count towards Olympic Qualification.

There is a World Master's Championship but no Olympics for Masters.

Speaking of 'show jumpers', Japan's Kasai continues in ski jumping at an age most folks have given up any kind of competition.
