However, the opportunity is there for other members who would like to start a fresh to do so.

    I tried! bounce

Seriously though, do you think if you, Hanon, CK or BillC changed their username that we wouldn't cotton on after 2 posts? Rolling Eyes

Human nature is bound to find problems where nothing like this exists.
Two off the greatest shisms I have encounterd in Judo involved passionate Judoka discovering things, then trying to show them to others, half of which didn't like the idea while other half said we knew that all along and both times the passionate Judoka going towards depth of depression because the world did not understand them.
The first was about hip movement duiing kake
The second was about training throws while moving vs training throws while moving.

In human head fits only one idea at one time. So many will ignore you as they have other things in their mine or are not capable of understanding. Judo is a path but a path well trodden. Your 'discoveries' are not discoveries for others.
One problem I see many of us complaining, are the new posters that come here and again open up the well trodden path by claiming XXX. For them is is a new and fresh idea. They have not read the thread 4 months ago and if pointed will not. They would not be Judoka if a single post by one of us would make them shut-up. So please don't get fustrated if new and eager beavers bite old wood!
In the old forum one of the threads I remember was that young Judoka who was for the use of performance enhancing drugs.

I don't get much of the angst that some seem to approach a forum and this topic.

What do I want in a judo forum? I want to:
    - learn new things from others in the great wide world of judo
    - get technical tips and be energized to learn new things myself
    - not be bothered by too much incorrect junk disguised as 'history'
    - be challenged to do my homework before I post, think before hitting 'SEND'
    - have enough structure so that things don't deteriorate too quickly
    - have enough sense to know that a free, anonymous, moderately- to un-moderated forum is going to have its share of errors, fruits, and nuts and the good sense to be able to sort that quickly
    - remember that I have a <DELETE> button that works first time, almost every time without fail

    and, finally,
    - increase my already almost god-like ki farao to the point I no longer need any of the above. sunny
