Ok so now that we are over here, what has happened to the BJA review report? Any signs of movement or performance coach appointment/interviews?
What is happening to the BJA website which is still under construction and coming soon......as it has been for the last 18 months.
Come on insiders get over here and explain....we need you Haff (and Roy)

Last time Haff posted, or last time I spoke to him (cant remember which), he mentioned March for the BJA forum. So fingers crossed......Rolling Eyes

I know Roy has has been in hospital, not sure if he still is, but maybe he will join us here at some point.

I know there was a meeting at Head Office the other day and one of the outcomes is, there will be a reduction in the number of Development and Technical Officers, will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Anyone able to remind the Haff that we are slowly moving to this site instead of the US forum with its porn and misbehaving. WE need him to be posting here

May be we should be asking what happened to the democratic process within the assoc. I'm hearing of at least 20 clubs unable to vote, is this correct?

    http://www.britishjudo.org.uk/news/performance-management-group-update-ranking-and-selection-policy-british-championships-and

So "new" ranking structure leading to British Trials and squad selection. NOt really new as it really only affects those who are not "elite" Internationals. So those in the squad and selected for internationals do not need to qualify. However those who are qualifying have to get in the first 4 at trials to make the squad. But there is nothing about how those trial winners get to become internationals.. So the same problems occur - you get into the squad but it depends who you are as to how much further you go. This is exactly the problem we had when the little darling was in the squad some years back.
At least this time there is a caveat that says international players must be performing on the international stage in order NOT to have to qualify in the British ranking competitions.

Nothing else new though, apart form some great videos showing the new rules. They are really good and I think the rules will make judo more exciting. But I pity the refs it is quite hard sometimes to see some of the hansukomake techniques in the blink of an eye.

So the BJA website is a disaster now, players seem to dislike the newly appointed coaching staff, now news about the full review everything has gone awfully quiet on the political front. Does anyone know or care what is happening. Where is the HAff???????

If it is only Nigel and Neal who are new, so do they not like them?

Yep, agree Jonesey, only Nigel and Neil so far. If people don't like Neil, then the association really cannot keep anyone happy. One of the most respected judoka in the world working for us is amazing and the appointment should be applauded. Some people will never be happy!

I have never met a more inspirational UK or Western judoka than Neil Adams. He is 10 years older than me and was my idol progressing through the kyu grades. I trained with him before I left the UK and when I was back he was out of favour with the BJA.

Nigel has a very good reputation and standing with the Junior and Cadet players as well as a very good personal record within the sport....

Maybe we will now start developing our players at a younger age instead of waiting until they are seniors before they appear on any radars. The trials in January, for me at least, proved that there are quite a few Juniors who are already snapping on the heels of our Senior players.... and quite a few cadets who are doing the same to our Juniors!!!

Well the new judo forum on BJA website is up and running and guess what.....as predicted my SJF membership number does not allow me access, neither does my technical official NJA membership number either (which is a BJA number)! Either Scottish judo members are being barred or hmmmmm perhaps it is just me being barred Very Happy
