Kano poster for dojo.

Seen a few images of Kano online, and we are trying to make up our mind which one to have in the new dojo.

Wont I be buying the right to use them as soon as my money is handed over???

Yes - depends if it's personal use or for commercial gain though.

Technically, you're limited to something that is very hi-resolution if you're going to print more than a small size.

More than a few folks doing so have bought the Kodokan calendar. Each comes with this formal photo of Kano shihan that is widely used in dojo, and the resolution and printing is high enough quality that it looks good. You can just trim away the border and mat and frame.


And, you get 12 months of great photos. Note there are two different versions - sports and historic. The historic calendar comes with English explanations, and there are some great pix.

And cheap - ￥1,050. I have no idea how much they charge for international shipping.
