The April 1962 has an interesting set of interviews with famous Japanese judoka after Geesink's win at the Olympics - nice, hadn't read that before.

The katakiuchi incident (authorized vendetta culminating in deadly combat) in which the sisters avenge their murdered father is one that I think was actually made into a kabuki play. I have a copy of a similar woodblock print as below that commemorates the event.

I was very excitied to read these. Does anyone have more of this publication ?

Also is there anyone aware of if the first one exist out there somewhere?
A very brief google search has me thinking it is dated at 1945 ....

Perhaps in the Bowen collection at Bath University ?
