I can honestly say, I saw nothing that would make a hansoku-make.

It's just a guess since the referee didn't signal the reason as she should have, but maybe it was for violating this rule which requires hansokumake: "To disregard the Referee's instructions."

She told the athlete to tuck in his judogi and he instead untied his belt and began to tie it again.

I think it may of been before that, when he went in for the O uchi gari his left hand dropped to the leg. He quickly raised his hand after he hit the mat.
It was most likely only seen on the replay.

Good eye. Camera angle here is not good, but it's clear what you mean.

Well I would have two problems with that explanation (1) that happen 1 matte earlier and (2) from the angle that we can see he really didn't touch the leg rather the hip....but if your right, I'm really really hating this rule.

She pointed vaguely to her leg and then called soremade. I think she actually looks embarrassed being unable to take her eyes off the japanese competitor like in shame as he resigns himself to the decision. Under the new rules someone behind the mat is making the most important calls rather than the mat's referee.

The signal the referee gave before announcing hansokumake was that it was a leg grab. From the exchange where white threw (but not score) with ouchi gari.

The camera angle is bad, so hard to see, but imo they should not have let the match continue if they thought it was a penalty, but what do i know?

The eye in the sky called thst one, you noticed a break in the action and then she walked over to talk to the jury. I don't like it at all. But this is the new rule and it's the way it's gonna happen.
