A dedication will be held Aug. 27 at Cohen Brothers Judo Club in memory of one of its founders.

While it is nice to do something to honor people, it is sad that they decided to do it by littering! No matter what kind of balloon they release, unless they are completely bio-degradeable there will be an environmental impact due to the inevitable bursting of the balloons and then all the little balloon parts coming back to earth. Birds and other wild animals are attracted to the bright colors of balloon fragments and eat them thinking they are fruit and then die from choking or digestive issues.
