THE IJF IS GIVING A 10,000 USD SURPRISE to each of the top 14 ranked judo players: "New Year 1st January 2014. The International Judo Federation (IJF) has rewarded the number one judoka in all 14 categories of the World Ranking List for starting the year at the summit of the sport by awarding $10,000 to each judoka. The World Judo Tour 2013 saw over $2,000,000 awarded in prize money with the World Championships and invite-only World Judo Masters offering the greatest reward as $200,000 was shared by the best performers. Judo's new 2014 season will open with ECCO International Team Challenge between Europe and Asia in Tyumen, Russia on January 25"
