    Overstrain injuries Empty Overstrain injuries

Post by grapplerulrich Mon Oct 27, 2014 8:10 am

    Hey,

I am a right handed fighter. I injured my left hand 12 months ago when someone was trying to break my grip. My knuckles and fingers ache with certain grips.

My favourite throw is tai-otoshi. My 2nd to 4th toe on my right foot hurt when I stand on tip toes since January this year.

The injuries have gotten better over a period of rest but come back again. I went to my GP(doctor) and he thought is was a overstrain injury.

Do you have any suggestions how I can make sure these injuries heal completely?

    Thanks!

rest them as much as possible. make sure you ice them after practice. Work on techniques that don't put those strains on those joints. Tape, tape, tape, tape, tape (ever wonder why old judoka look a bit like mummies? it starts with the fingers and toes). And tap out when you need to. You don't have to finish the practice if you're aggravating an injury.
