This is a short HD video called "The Demonstration of Gentleness" by Ian Whittlesea (showing Helen & Kathryn Cartwright performing Ju-no-kata) which was launched at the BFI, London on 25 June 2012. (The Cartwright twins placed fourth in the Ju-no-kata at the fourth IJF Kata World Championships, 2012 held in Pordenone, Italy.)
The video has several connections to artist and judoka Yves Klein: firstly that Whittlesea translated Klein's book about the katas Les Fondement du Judo into English, and secondly that Klein corresponded with Jean Cocteau about making a film of judo. The Demonstration of Gentleness is a homage to that never realised collaboration.
The title is taken from T.P. Leggett's translation of Ju no Kata. In 1949 Klein stayed in London for several months, training at the Budokwai where he was taught by Leggett.
