See Vote of No Confidence to the President of FIAS Mr. V. Shestakov pdf. (3rd link in second paragraph) Pretty heavy accusations, but it actually just follows Asian federation Vote of No Confidence. No mentioning of this s-t storm in any russian-speaking SAMBO web-pages. Out-of-control corruption probably true - but American continent can kiss any rubles/dollars goodby. Till sport grows it's own financial base Russsian budget is the biggest financier.

Not sure if you know yet, but FIAS suspended Rudman, Pulatov, Shull, and Lents today. After all this pan am bs and public attack on Shestakov. It will likely be made a permanent ban at the worlds congress.

FIAS is Shestakov - suspension of those opposed is obvious next step - if it is true (nothing on official web-site yet). You did not expect him actually open the books? Unlike US, countries in Asian SF like Kazakstan and Uzbekistan actually can finance their team's travels; while many others function solely on Russian hand-outs. The scandal was brewing for a while, but suspension moves come after Shestakov's picture appeared next to Putin when he visited Sambo-70 school, and Rudman - school founder - was not there. It is fun to watch this Soviet era soap playing out in 21st century. Pan-Am federation is a push-over and can be replaced with stooges ready in the wind overnight - but Asian federation actually well established and can put up a fight. Get the pop-corn ready.

Ricebale, you think what happened in with Pan-American meeting is BS, and Shestakov moved veterans world cup from US to Bulgaria for some very legitimate reason. May-be, not arguing. Here you can read BSF President's point of view.
