I painted these a long time ago when young and foolish, and a new shodan.

Sadly no painting for at least 40 years. Judo took up too much time Smile

Well, when in the painting mode, as opposed to guitar'ing, many of the paintings were given away to friends and a couple I gave to Rick Mertens. One, Kano, was in the Barksdale Judo Club for a number of years. Highly doubtful is that club exists now; Rick passed away in 1999. Many of the old guys and gals members are also gone. Also, someone at the Kittyhawk Judo Club had a couple of my paintings, but that club has been gone for a long time as well. The old days of Judo are gone maybe.

I really like the one of Kano. Is that based on some other picture?

Can't remember the exact book but several painting of Kano were from B&W photographs of him, so some guess work color was added. I have an image of one of my old Kano paintings, when I figure out how to post it, then it will appear. Not sure who has it now.

Well, after reducing it to 200x200 pix it is not very impressive. Oh well. This one was with the late Rick Mertens done in the mid-1960's.
