2014 Kodokan Calendar

The 2014 Kodokan calendar is available. The total cost is about $25.00 for delivery to the US. It took 6 days from ordering to signing for delivery in California.

Our kancho likes the calendars of the tattooed (I presume) yakuza ladies I pick up from a little shop on a mobbed up side street  in Asakusa.  The native and un-photoshopped native artistry of these works sets a nice tone for our beer and barbecue room at the dojo.  Of course, in the public space are calendars from the Kodokan and Kintetsu World Express (how did we get on THEIR mailing list?).



Last time in Asakusa I ran into NBK in fact, he was taking yet another visitor on a three hour tour of Tokyo.  Time for me to make another trip ... after watching the Tokyo Grand Slam of European Jacket Wrestling of course.

There are two - a sports one of competition judo, and an historic calendar of interesting old photos. The historic one is always interesting, and has gotten more interesting the last couple of years. I cut out the photos and have several years'

FYI...The 2014 calendar has the week running from Monday thru Sunday!!! I hate that!!

The last two years the calendars were Sunday thru Saturday.

Not sure I'll get a 2015 calendar.
