If you have dropped to 27th in the IJF list and the Judoka with whom you compete for the Olympic Place is now 1st then ....

Sporting politics has been arund for ages.
After the Beijing Olympiacs Yuektial Gal placed 5th but quit Judo in Israel a year afterwards citing that politics were to huge and he couldnt be bothered.
its a shame when good athletes leave the sport forever

The 1st won 2013 World Championships thanks to referee errors!
Gerbi's shimewaza (suso-jime) was forbidden by the rules. She used the bottom of the lapel in the semi-final and final.

The point is that one has to wonder how much of the animosity towards the NGB is generated from the fact that she is no longer #1 in Israel in her weight class. Maybe nothing at all but still.
