Starting today, each time I write a post I get a request to fill out a confirmation code. I find that annoying since my computer already has been struggling with the software of the forum since many months (each time I click on something there is a half a minute delay before the next screen appears which seems to have something to so with marketing cookies for 'illiweb').

Why do we now have to fill in a confirmation code each time we post something ?

wasn't aware of this. so, I'm posting this response to figure out if I have to do a confirmation code. If I don't have to, you'll see this response.

you might want to kick out that cookie. My computer's not functioning slowly. I'm also apparently not required to submit a confirmation code with posts.

The confirmation code thing has disappeared, Stacey, I no longer get it either. Perhaps the Forum software was updating itself ?
In terms of cookies that is easier to say. Many of these cookies are coded, so you cannot recognized which one it is. I don't think that that solves the problem. It is problem that occurred many months ago. I have it in both Firefox and IE8.
I think that it occurred after a Microsft Win XP update. I cannot replicate it when using either browser on a Vista or Win 7 machine, and I know it does not occur on Win 8 either, so I think it is just Win XP users that are screwed. Perhaps the forum software is not really fully compatible anymore with Win XP. As I have never been particularly fond of sponsoring Bill Gates' wallet I will likely not switch until Win 9 is available.
Specialist sites say that the IE 8 is way outdated, but IE 9 does not run on XP anymore. I don't have Google Chrome but I am pretty convinced I would have the same problems.

I feel really stupid. I just wrote a post to say that the confirmation code is gone. Indeed it has been gone the entire day, but as I posted the above post, guess what ? I suddenly get request to first fill in a confirmation code

I'm not on a Windows OS, so don't know. You have controlled your cookies, right? Nobody can set a cookie without your permission, right?
Hopefully somebody who does windows will be along to either help with your computer problem or wash my windows

Thanks. Let me know if I can help with your windows. Here's a recent clip of me cleaning windows, which I did not want to deny you:

It's not asking for a confirmation code with Chrome on Ubuntu

It hasn't been asking me for a confirmation code anymore since yesterday either. Strange. Perhaps it's just the usual NSA spyware ...

perhaps you should stop using words common in terroristic threats, like "ricin" and "bomb" and "Jenna"
(you can keep posting fuzzy little kitties)

Hmmm, I think what it might have been in that sentence with the words "bomb" and "Jenna" is that I probably meant to write "rising" rather than "ricin".
