Yes I was wondering that. I sincerely hope he is okay? Can you make any enquiries?

I spoke to him very recently and he is apparently having issues joining but is alive and well.

    So yes, it's me.

I was baffled and dissappointed as to what happened to the old Judo-Info forum, but happily found my way here.
I was researching Katame no Kata and was thrilled at finding the new translation by NBK, so thanks to him for the translations, to the Kodokan for putting them online for free and to Jonesy for pointing me to them.
I'm still curious as to what went awry with the old forum, but I see there's an eight page thread on that which I can read at my leisure.

Great to see C.K. San and Hanon San still posting, as well as Stacey and others I have yet to rediscover.

    Same old me.  But older.

I was holding my son XY1 in reserve to be my yondan exam partner, but injured ukes, dissappearing ukes and a fracture of my own fibula, delayed sandan by about 4 years during which time he shot up to 5'11" and became a perfect nage-no uke.  So I went in front of the Provincial grading board with my own son, a newly minted ikkyu, as my partner for Nage no Kata, all the waza and Randori. (Another broken-down 50-something helped me out with Katame no) A unanimous pass, just days before my 50th birthday.  Truth be told, I'm probably prouder of XY1's achievment than my own.  It's now my pleasure to coach him towards the remainder of his shiai points and prep him for his own exam which I know he will breeze through.

So happy to be back.  Looking forward to exchanging again.

Sadly the heyday of the judoforum is long gone. I think with facebook and other forms of social media, most forums are in decline (but maybe I'm wrong). Although I was assured the old forum would continue, it didn't happen when a new company took over administration. Very disappointing. As you can see, this forum is not as active, but it has held up pretty well for years now.

As your post makes clear, we are all getting older. What an honor you have to help your son advance in judo.

    Welcome back.
