One of my judo sempai mentioned coaching the Tokyo team for the Mikasa Memorial Judo Tournament. Never heard of it before, but it is an annual event with two teams (five men, three women) each from Tokyo and the seven prefectures surrounding the Tokyo area (Kanto region).
The 'Mikasa' in the title is Admiral Togo's flagship, famous from the Russo-Japanese War and ambushing the Russian fleet near Tsushima Island, now afloat in a block of cement on the bay near Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
