David Douillet and Alexander Karelin

On a mma forum I read that David Douillet knew Alexander Karelin during an Olympic game (1992, 1996 or 2000) and it was written that Douillet felt himself like a child compared phisically to Karelin.
Is it true? It sounds me strange because they were of the same weight (125 kg) and Douillet is a little bit taller (Karelin 191 cm and Douillet 196 cm).
