    Sad news to report. Jesse Jones, the director of yesterday's California State Games tournament, head of Unidos Judo Club, and SoCal judo fixture for decades ... went home last evening, poured a glass of wine, settled into his recliner ... and quietly passed away. Gentle end for a lifelong follower of the gentle art.

    I for one will miss him, a gentleman of the old school.

    I have know Jesse for 45 years and always a gentleman. He will be missed.
