    I guess we can call this leverage and, relaxation and, other things. I'm sure Judo practitioners understand this as well. I would be interested in what they have to share, or critique!

    I admire BJJ for its depth of understanding of balance and movement. I cannot for the life of me, however, understand why they don't apply the same to their stand-up game (whether that be takedowns or self defence).

    When BJJers come to me asking for help with takedowns I get them to show me a few of their favourite guard sweeps and pin reversals. Then I take those and show them takedowns using the same the principles. Really, they already have all the answers.
