I met him at the Greatest Camp on Earth in NC a few years back. Great judo, worked well with everyone (even played the little kids during randori), came and watched the kata class during his break too! He was a really nice guy!

Sensei Shinjiro Sasaki started Judo at the age of six in his home town of Hiroshima, Japan. Ar the age of 18, he continued his study of the sport at the world renowned Kodokan, the home of Judo as established by Jigoro Kano, founder of Judo in 1882. After graduationg with a degree in Law, Sensei Sasaki became a top Judo player on the famous Ryotokuji Japanese professional Judo team. Love this topic. To me, Sasaki's Judo is more of the "Modern Judo" that's practiced today.
