Satoshi Ishii returned in MMA

On 31st December 2012 Satoshi Ishii defeated Tim Sylvia by decision.
Ishii showed stamina issues and struggled against his taller and bigger opponent. On standing he relied little on striking and a lot on his judo (body grips, trips, sweeps), On the ground, he fought basically with osaekomi and a little bit of ground and pound.
I doubt he will be a champ.

I don't know why Ishii stopped competing in Judo, tbh. Maybe his heart isn't in Judo tournaments as much.

He already conquered that world maybe. Young Kings seem like they can be so overly ambitious and overly confident. At the youngest, greatest in his sport I think he did ok compared to Tyson.lol

Buddy told me about 'over-developed youth' and that they can tend to get bored quick. Learned it in puberty and he may never recover from this boredom.lol

Ishii is too mercurial.
He leaved judo, then leaved MMA, returns to MMA; moves down in weight; moves up in weight... He fights only once a year...
One of the worst career...

He's fighting Pedro Rizzo at the end of this month.

Quite easy fight for Ishii.
Ishii fought twice after last Jan; on 23rd Feb he defeated Sean McCorkle displaying a handsome taiotoshi and on the ground submitted him with a kimura.
On 20th March defeated Kerry Schall with a barrage of punches followed by a ude garami which tore Schall's bicep.
It's reported Ishii has trained with Josh Barnett.
On 13th April he took part in the open USA judo tournament, but got disqualified in the final because he touched the leg of his opponent (the gold medalist is another Japanese who fights in the -100 kg division).
