Is the back seam necessary? Empty Is the back seam necessary?

I've found a judogi that is pretty much ideal for all of my uses, but it doesn't have a back seam. Would this be a problem down the line at shiai?

I know the IJF regulations (and presumably other ones) specify a maximum seam width, but I haven't seen a minimum so I can't tell.

It is not necessary or required. I like judogi with no back seam, although it is never a factor in selecting one to buy.

The seam should make it stronger, but judogi do not usually wear out or tear on the back.

The JK300 by Seido. I was informed that their judogi can be ordered in un bleached upon request, which is great because no one else seems to be selling anything but disposable beginners dogi in unbleached cotton! (Well, Isami does but only for karate.)
