    Good to know:

So basically good news about using Voltaren (topical) instead of Advil or my favorite Kirkland brand Ibuprophen (Oral).

Both work, but Voltaren is safer for the stomach, which is good news considering I have family history of GI problems.

I have not had any adverse skin reaction to Voltaren, so the one reported problem area seems to be a non-issue for me.

I have never tried Voltaren. When I take Advil, I try to take it with food, or my stomach will bother me.

If you're prone to side effects from Advil you should absolutely try Voltaren.

I have always praised the name of He Who Must Not Be Named, ever since i read his recommendation for soothing finger/toe injuries any topical cream containing diflonec. It works really, really well -- swelling and pain rapidly subsides.

I wasn't aware topical NSAIDS were also useful for bigger joints like shoulders/elbows/knees
