I have just returned from my first tournament in 2 years
............wow !!.......a great day out.
Lost the first fight in less than 20 seconds by stupidly
walking onto a perfectly timed Deashi Harai.
Won the second fight inside 10 seconds with a Taiotoshi.
Lost the third fight due to cramp in right leg........
started to turn in for a L/H Taiotoshi, as I moved into position
my right leg gave a twinge of cramp, and in that split second
of hesitation my opponent took me down with a nice taniotoshi
for a Waza ari, then held me down with Kesagatame, as I turned in
and attempted to bridge to lift and roll him the cramp hit and
ran from my right side gluteus maximus to my heel.........AGONY
and an Ippon for my opponent.
I won this Division 3 years ago, but I guess you can't win everything.
Bruce Fagin and his team put on a marvelous tournament as usual, and I am glad I was part of it as it gave me the opportunity to catch up with some old friends and renew aquaintances, and gain some new friends too.
