Katame No Kata Video

Does anyone know a good video by which to help in learning the Katame No Kata? I saw https://judo.forumotion.com/t352-katame-no-kata-by-sampson-sampson in the forum, but wasn't sure if it'd be a good one to watch to help learn. As I'm able to get back into judo as time allows, this is something I'd really like to learn. I had a big interest in it when I was more regular, but never had the opportunity to learn.

Maybe, wdax or Jonesy have some recording in mind they want to recommend. It depends on what precisely it is you are after. There are obviously mechanics that need to be mastered. Although this kata is the least favorite of mine, my concern is mainly one of spirit and control, something Hanon-sensei has many times alluded to as this a kata that is dear to him. If one more or less has the mechanics under control, then I think one benefits mostly from trying to understand what and how a true newaza-specialists moves. Only if one truly understand the newaza-spirit one will have a good basis to learn the message of what this kata has to offer. In terms of source support, I think that Otaki/Draeger and Leggett book are still a reference.

Look at the one in the introduction to the kata. I always put the best one I find there.

Patrick Bigot from France posted a lot of video-clips on YouTube recorded at the Kodokan Summer courses during the past three years. If someone is looking for instructional information, he should have a look at these.
