Anyone still thinking that the timing of the whole mess in Japan and Uemura's AJJF troubles are mere coincidence, dream on. Vizer is safe for another 4 years !!  If Japan ever wants to have a foot in the door toward IJF leadership it will have to find a way to match IJF's media and mafia strategy.

Deeply depressing. I wonder whether the "system" that will exist at the end of another 4 years will be recognisable as judo at all.

From point of Sports politics Vizer has managed well.
You note that Judo has got more coverage and was NOT one of the sports to be considered for removal from Olympics.
The current competition system with placing and schedule is positive.

So all is not as dark as one might think.
