Michigami-sensei was a respected Busen-educated sensei, who had been a student of Isogai Hajime, 10th dan, Tabata Shotarô, 10th dan, and of other legendary Busen-sensei such as Fukushima, Morishita, Kurihara and Ebii. He graduated from the Busen in Kyôto in 1938. In the West he is most known as a jûdô pedagogue who taught well-remembered clinics and classes in Bordeaux and as the main person behind Geesink defeating the Japanese top-champions. He was also a teacher to our JudoForum-colleague, Hanon-sensei, who I presume will appreciate this 1997 footage very much.
