Interesting. I had a German bloke turn up at my club last night and, from his ju-jutsu passport, he seems to have come from this last lot shown above. He was Ikkyu.

Now he was an older man and no doubt a little nervous in a new club. That aside, I found him very rigid and forceful, but without good base or posture. He seemed uncomfortable in grappling range and explained that they used distance and striking a lot.

Probably, you should be more specific: some WJJF ju jitsu masters. Many people outside WJJF may question those people's mastery of jujutsu.

It is still ju jitsu.
Like in karate there are shorin ryu, shotokan ryu, wado ryu, goju ryu, shito ryu, ecc.
