Thanks - a great book. I translated the entire thing in the old forum. There were something like 100,000 hits on the serialized version.

I may post it here someday.

So you've been thinking about me? Perhaps that has helped pull me to this site. Smile A Chinese saying that has recently gained popularity is 念念不忘,必有回响。

Post by aiyotsu Tue Aug 28, 2018 6:15 am

Hello NBK, our Dojo would be particularly interested in the translation of the Torite no Kata, with a view to studying it in depth.
    Any chance of posting it?
    Kind regards, Aiyotsu

I need to finish the detailed translation and commentary, get it translated into another language TBD, and ask my bud to set up the graphics for a print on demand book.

So, if I post for you, I'll never sell a single one.

    In short, not very likely.

    But, thanks for trying!

Within a yr or two, I think.

One of my cooperating partners has self published 26 books, all old Japanese martial arts texts, and his are sold through Amazon USA. Remarkable talent, he translates things that even Japanese can't read. Old handwritten kanji, etc. Mostly ninja and sword related, we worked together on some jujutsu text.

So probably Amazon USA, which ships worldwide.

USA-TKJ BOOK - LOST KATA OF KODOKAN JUDO
    34,99 US$
USA-TKJ Book: LOST KATA OF KODOKAN JUDO

I am pleased to inform you that we have completed an unprecedented study of the forgotten Katas of Kodokan Judo.

This Important Project has been undertaken by Jose A. Caracena and myself. In this work presents the 6 Kata that are not widely practiced today in judo, along with their history, objectives, evolution, techniques, etc. including the translation of historical documentation, photos etc.

It is a technical as well as historical work, where we are making known this wonderful part of Traditional Kodokan Judo and that unfortunately has fallen mostly into oblivion.

To carry out this project we surrounded ourselves with excellent historians, researchers, translators etc.

Initially, we have published the book in Spanish and English, and soon also in French.

The English Version is now available..!!

    Torite-no-kata Empty my opinion

Post by noboru Thu Aug 30, 2018 1:06 am

    I don't have this book.

I looked the video, it is nice. I tried to compare photos sequences from japanese book with sequences from video and I lost during some techniques.

Technique are interesting, I recognize some techniques from some TenjinShinyoRyu jujutsu. For me (my private opinion) deeper my studying Goshinjutsu-no-kata is better than try to practice this kata. It gives me more skill for selfdefence than practice this kata.
