    Renkoho Waza Empty Renkoho Waza

Post by gester Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:30 pm

Been looking into Renkoho Waza lately and any information on it will be appreciated. History, practice of, books, websites, stories about, versions of, etc.

All I have is a few pages found in Kata of Kodokan, Revised.

    Thanks,
    Gester

The best place to look at these waza is Taiho-jutsu, of which there is a lot that has been published.

Do you mean renzoku waza? Continous attack? In terms of kata, the most applicable may be ju no kata. In terms of randori and shiai combinations are a basic for of this principle. An interesting way to practice this is to string 3 or more techniques that work in combination into a loop and use this loop over and over until you throw uke

    Interesting idea, Taigo.

I am referring to the "kata of arresting techniques" developed for the Tokyo police.

There is not a lot of information about renkoho waza (arresting techniques) beside what you already found

but there is a similar term "Torite (no Kata)"

    https://judo.forumotion.com/t2269-torite-no-kata

and "Taiho jutsu" (arresting techniques by the police)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiho_Jutsu

Steven Kaplan has wrote a book on Taiho Jutsu
